What activities are available at Elk Lake Resort?
Elk Lake Resort offers a variety of activities year-round. Our summer activities include hiking, swimming, sailing, paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking. Our winter activities include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, holiday dinners, and cross-country skiing. There's something for everyone to enjoy!
Do you have pet-friendly accommodations?
Yes, we welcome pets at the resort during the summer season!
Pets are charged a pet fee of $40 per pet, per night and are only allowed in our Cabins, Camping Cabins, Campsites and RV sites.
Due to wildlife animals in the area that roam both day and night, pets/service dogs ARE NOT allowed in the Glamping Tents or grounds for their safety. Pets/Service Dogs CAN NOT be kenneled/crated outside the Glamping tents overnight.
What is the pet policy?
For guests staying at the resort pets and service animlas are charged a pet fee of $40 per pet, per night.
Pets/Service Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, unless actively swimming in the water. This means no loose dogs anywhere on the resort besides the beach.
Pets/Service Dogs must be friendly to other pets and people.
Pets/Service Dogs ARE NOT to be left alone at any time, including in your vehicle or cabins/campsites.
Pet/Service Dog waste must be immediately picked up and disposed of.
Pets/Service Dogs ARE NOT allowed on furniture or beds in the cabins. If there is evidence of dogs on furniture or bedding, an excessive cleaning charge will apply, appropriate to the situation, but not less than $100 each incident.
Any damage caused by pets/service dogs will be charged appropriate to the situation, but not less than $100 per incident.
Pets or Service Animals ARE NOT allowed in our Pontoon boots for their safety.
Pets and Service Dogs ARE allowed:
- During the Summer Season
- During ‘Music on the Water’
- In Cabins, Camping Cabins, Campsites and RV sites-if the required Pet fee has been paid
- On our paddleboard, kayaks and canoes
- The OUTSIDE areas of our Cabanas
- Our Grounds (including the Restaurant/Dining area) – if leashed and well behaved
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. If you need to adjust these times, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
What does the general store sell?
Various drinks, beer, snacks, merch, personal care items, limited camping supplies, non ethanol gas, propane canisters, ice, firewood bundles and other items.
Is there a restaurant on-site?
Normally our on-site restaurant serves a variety of meals made with locally sourced ingredients. While we undergo renovations enjoy delicious pizzas and salads from the outside pizza stand.
Can I bring alcohol to the resort?
Day-use guests may bring outside food and alcohol to be consumed in the marina area ONLY. Outside food or drinks is not allowed at the lodge.
Please no glass bottles of any kind at the resort, especially on the beach. Lots of bare feet!
How can I make a reservation?
You can easily make a reservation through our website or by calling our front desk. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak seasons.Are there shuttle services?
Individual and large group shuttles from Bend, Redmond or Sisters to Dutchman Flat SnoPark in the winter and Elk Lake Resort in the summer can be provided by Safe Chauffeur. For more information about the cost for this service, visit safechauffeur.me or call/text 541-494-7233.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Our satellite internet service is extremely limited and we reserve it for employees, internal systems, and our overnight guests. A code will be provided upon check-in.
Can I stay at the resort for 1 night?
Tent and RV Sites can be booked for 1 night stays.
Otherwise, our minimum length of stay is 2 nights and 3 nights on holiday weekends.
Are campfires allowed?
Of course! We have designated campfire rings at most of our lodging sites. Please no burning of trash or food as it attracts unwanted animals and makes it a mess for the next guests.
Please don't leave a fire unattended and douse with water when you're done.
There are times when the forest service restricts campfires, we'll be sure to let you know.

Is smoking allowed?
Elk Lake Resort is now a completely smoke-free property. Violations of this policy result in a $250 fine.
How much is parking?
Parking is extremely limited at the resort and we suggest carpooling if possible. Day-use parking is $10 per day, cash, Friday through Sunday.
Most accomodations include parking for 1 or 2 vehicles (see descriptions) but additional vehicles can be added for $10/night.

Can I fish at the resort?
At this time we do not allow fishing from any of our shores, our docks, or from our rental boats. However, there are may spots around the lake including the day use areas where the fishing is really good!

Do you sell forest service passes, fishing permits, or hiking passes
We do not sell any permits or passes at the resort.

Can I launch my boat at the resort?
Yes, we have a boat launch. There is a $20 launch fee and we do not allow boat launches on Saturdays. Please give us a call or send us an email (marina@elklakeresort.com) to give us a heads up. Thank you!
For overnight resort guests we have 1 slip available on a first come first serve basis, $50 per night.
Also, there is no space to tie up at our dock.
