PCT HIKER INFORMATION

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a long-distance hiking trail that stretches over 2,650 miles from the Mexican border to Canada, traversing through California, Oregon, and Washington. It's a breathtaking journey through diverse landscapes, including mountains, forests, and deserts.

The closest hiking access is the Elk Lake Trailhead, located directly across Cascade Lakes Highway from the Elk Lake Resort entrance.

Many trails in the area require wilderness permits, and some require advance reservations for specific entry dates and times. We recommend checking permit requirements and trail information before your visit.

We are now offering a designated tent area for guests to pitch their tents. The fee is $30 per person AND includes a shower! 

PCT hikers are not allowed to camp in our main tent sites as those are reserved for traditonal family camping.

Please schedule your shower with the Front Desk.

Yes, you can mail packages to arrive at the Resort between June 1st and September 1st. 

As we continue expanding our in-store options for guests staying at the Resort, mail drop services will be unavailable in future seasons.

Please use FedEx or UPS only, as USPS does not deliver to our location. Packages should be addressed as follows:

Please include your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) on the box. There is a $40 fee to store and retrieve your package. Due to limited delivery schedules, it may take up to 2 weeks to receive a package.

We are unable to forward packages unless you provide a pre-paid UPS label and pay the $40 fee to store and retrieve. Because of the remoteness of the Resort and shipping timeframes, forwarded packages could take several weeks to reach your next destination.

We will not accept any PCT BOXES in 2027!  Please plan accordingly.

Yes, your dog is allowed, max of two per group.

Your dog must be leashed at all times while on Resort property, including the beach areas.  Dogs are not allowed in the Lodge. 

The docks are not for public use.

Our General Store is stocked to support guests staying at the resort, campground, and cabins. 

You'll find a selection of snacks, beverages, toiletries, ice, firewood, and basic camping essentials for your stay.

While we do carry some backpacking-friendly foods and basic supplies, our store is not a full Pacific Crest Trail resupply location. Backpackers planning a complete trail resupply should plan accordingly before arriving, as our inventory is limited and focused on the needs of on-site guests rather than long-distance hiking resupplies.

We welcome PCT hikers who are staying with us; however, our store is not intended to provide complete trail resupplies. Selection is limited and may not include the specialized foods, gear, or quantities needed for extended backpacking trips.

One shower is inluded as part of the PCT Hiker overnight fee of $30.
