Elk Lake Resort, nestled in Oregon's Cascade Lakes region, is an ideal stopover for PCT hikers. Our resort provides an area to pitch your tent, showers, and many options in our general store to restock your pack.

  • What is the Pacific Crest Trail?

    The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a long-distance hiking trail that stretches over 2,650 miles from the Mexican border to Canada, traversing through California, Oregon, and Washington. It's a breathtaking journey through diverse landscapes, including mountains, forests, and deserts.

  • Can I camp overnight at the resort?

    We are now offering a designated tent area for guests to pitch their tents. The fee is $30 per person AND includes a shower!  The tent area is on the South side of our Lower Parking Lot.


    After purchasing at the front desk, you will receive a wristband indicating that you have paid to use the tent area. This area will be monitored by staff.  Please schedule your shower with the Front Desk.


    Please note: we do not provide individual hiker sites, and camping outside the designated tent area—including random spots on the property or the beach—is NOT permitted.


    Outside food and drink are NOT allowed to be consumed on our property.

  • Do you accept resupply packages for pickup?

    Yes, you can mail packages to arrive at the Resort between June 1st and September 1st. Please use FedEx or UPS only, as USPS does not deliver to our location. Packages should be addressed as follows:

    Please include your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) on the box. There is a $40 fee to store and retrieve your package. Due to limited delivery schedules, it may take up to 2 weeks to receive a package.


    We are unable to forward packages unless you provide a pre-paid UPS label and pay the $40 fee to store and retrieve. Because of the remoteness of the Resort and shipping timeframes, forwarded packages could take several weeks to reach your next destination.

  • Can I take a shower at the resort?

    We do have showers availablefor $10 which includes shampoo, a bar of soap, and a towel. See us at the front desk to purchase. 


    One shower is inluded as part of the PCT Hiker overnight fee.

  • Is there laundry at the resort?

    Unfortunately, we do not have public washers or dryers. 

  • Can I find food and supplies at the resort?

    Yes! The resort has a restaurant and a general store with lots of supplies for purchase, including a full line of Mountain House meals, stove fuel, and other highly requested items. 


  • How can Elk Lake Resort assist PCT hikers?

    Elk Lake Resort offers a variety of services for PCT hikers, including an area to pitch your tent, meal options, information, showers, and many items for purchase in our general store. We have ice cream too!

  • Are there any safety tips for hiking the PCT?

    Safety is paramount on the PCT. Always inform someone of your hiking plans, carry a map and compass, and be aware of wildlife. It's also wise to check weather forecasts and trail conditions before heading out.

  • Can I arrange a shuttle to/from the resort and Bend?
