Signature Ride & Dine Package

Spend the day in the Cascades with our signature Ride & Dine adventure—a perfect blend of scenic thrill and fireside comfort. Guests begin their journey aboard our heated snowcat on an 11-mile ride along the Cascade Lakes Highway to the resort.


Upon arrival at Elk Lake Resort, you’ll enjoy a 2-hour snowmobile rental (single or tandem), followed by a hearty lunch in our newly renovated lodge. Adrenaline and serenity, the Ride & Dine offers the best of both worlds—an unforgettable way to spend your day with family or friends exploring the Cascades.


After lunch, guests return to Dutchman Flat via snowcat, taking in panoramic views to end a perfect day.

FULL MOON SKI & DINE

Back again in 2026!! Join us for dinner on January 3rd, February 1st, and March 3rd for a delicious meal, après ski. You'll cross-country ski [mostly] downhill 1500 vertical feet, 4% grade, 11 miles from Dutchman Flat/Mt. Bachelor to Elk Lake Resort where we'll have a hot meal and a warm fire waiting for you. After dinner we'll load you and your skis onto our snowcat for a moonlit ride back to Dutchman Flat Sno-Park.


We recommend classic skiers get started by 3:30pm, and skate skiers get started by 4:30pm; Plan to arrive at the resort by 7:30pm for dinner. Return trip leaves from the resort after everyone has had time to eat @ approximately 8:30pm.


Reservations for dinner are not required but please secure your return trip (departing ~8:30pm) on our snowcat here. We also have our private 5 passenger CanAm tracked vehicle available as well, more info here. These trips always book quickly!!

Snowcat Reservation

WOOD-FIRED SAUNA

Our friends at SaltSaun.NW delivered a custom-built 6 person sauna just in time for winter! Come enjoy a cold plunge and lakeside sauna routine with family and friends.


Built from Pacific Northwest red cedar it has a large porch with a bench for 4, hooks for towels and robes, mood lighting and backlit Himalayan salt. Typical operating temperatures range from 100–200°F.


Set on the beach adjacent to the lodge with a large window framing Mt. Bachelor.

SNOWMOBILE Rental

Nestled deep in Oregon’s winter backcountry, Elk Lake Resort is the ultimate snowmobile destination along hundreds of miles of groomed trails.

NORDIC SKIING

Elk Lake Resort is your serene winter escape for cross-country skiing in the Central Oregon Cascades. This winter season, we’re grooming the popular Elk Lake Loop Trail, offering a scenic and accessible route circumventing the lake with panoramic mountain views.


Whether you’re a seasoned skier or just getting started, Elk Lake offers a peaceful, off-the-grid Nordic experience far from the crowds. After your ski, warm up by the fire, grab a hot drink in the lodge, or stay overnight in one of our cabins.


Pro-tip #1: Take the 9:30am snowcat to the resort, nordic ski around the lake (7mi, approx. 2-2.5 hours, eat lunch at the lodge, and take the return snowcat at 2:30pm. Best day ever!


Pro-tip #2: Ski in to the resort, eat lunch at the lodge, and take the snowcat back to Dutchman's Flat. Book your one-way snowcat transport here.

SNOWSHOEING

Explore the resort and neighboring trails on snowshoes. Surrounded by deep snow, alpine forest, and mountain views, our backcountry setting is ideal for ungroomed snowshoe adventures just steps from your cabin.


Snowshoe rentals are available onsite, making it easy to gear up and go. Whether you’re out for a short afternoon hike or an all-day trek, Elk Lake is your base for a peaceful, unplugged winter experience.
