Summer CABINS

1940's Vintage
2 Bedroom Cabins

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY 4 ADULTS

Our five vintage 1940's cabins reflect the long history of the resort and offer a simple, classic cabin experience near Elk Lake.

Each cabin features two bedrooms furnished with new mattresses and new furniture, comfortably accommodating up to four guests. While the cabins are older and fairly basic, they provide the essentials needed for a convenient stay close to the lake.

Your stay includes the convenience of private parking and access to a basic camping-style kitchen equipped with essential cooking supplies, including a microwave. Inside, each cabin includes a private bathroom with a shower, along with fresh linens, and towels. The kitchen space is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, and utensils for your group, along with standard cookware such as pots and pans. (Bakeware is not provided.) A coffee maker is not included in the cabins, but guests are welcome to enjoy the coffee station available down at the Lodge.

Cabins 17 and 18 each include one queen bed and two twin beds. Cabins 19 and 20 feature two queen beds, while Cabin 25 is conveniently located next to our largest cabin, Cabin 26, for extra large groups.

Outside, each cabin has two Adirondack chairs and a seasonal campfire ring where guests can enjoy an evening under the stars.  Under a canopy of pine trees, guests can take in the natural beauty and scenery that make Elk Lake special. These cabins provide a practical and nostalgic stay for those who appreciate the charm of vintage lake cabins.

Up to two vehicles may be parked at these cabins. Tents and pop-up shade tents are not allowed. Any vehicle that can be slept in—such as a camper, van, or truck with a shell—must be parked in the Upper Parking Lot. Overnight sleeping in vehicles in any of our parking lots is not permitted.

NEW for 2026 – Private Beach Area for Main Cabin Guests

The North Shore Beach area is reserved for guests who have booked a Main Cabin (not campground sites). Only guests staying exclusively in Main Cabins may use this beach; any members of a group who also have campground reservations are not allowed in the North Shore Beach area.

The entrance areas are monitored by staff to ensure a quiet and relaxing environment for guests who want to unwind, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful beach experience.

Day-use guests and campground site guests may use the newly designated Day Use Beach, located next to the Marina stand and in front of the Large Cabanas.

Please see our FAQ page and Terms & Conditions page for updates on parking, arrival times, fees, and other policy changes.

To help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests, grilling is only permitted at campground sites with reservations and for guests using the day dock. Grilling is not allowed in any other areas of the resort. Please do not bring personal grills onto the property unless you have a campground reservation or day dock rental where grilling is permitted.

Instead, we encourage guests to relax and enjoy the convenience of our restaurant and bar, where you can take in the lake views while enjoying freshly prepared meals, snacks, and beverages during your visit.

"A rare gem in Central Oregon and under new ownership. There's life being breathed into this long time favorite. Highly recommend taking the snow cat at least one way, perhaps skiing in one way as well. The food is fantastic. Espresso and great adult beverages. You won't be disappointed."

CANCELLATION POLICY

Effective Immediately, March 9th, 2026

These updated cancellation policies supersede any previous emails, invoices, receipts, or other promised cancellation rules.

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to be as fair and flexible as possible while balancing the unique logistics of operating a remote mountain resort. Due to the unpredictable nature of weather, wildfires, and life in general, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to help offset the cost of last-minute cancellations or changes.

Standard Lodging/Campground Cancellation & Reservation Change Policy

  • 90+ Days Before Arrival: A full refund will be issued minus a $100 cancellation fee (per cabin), $50 cancellation fee (per Stay & Recharge package) or $20 cancellation fee (per campground site). Reservation changes can be made with no penalty.
  • 7–90 Days Before Arrival: A $100 cancellation/change fee (per cabin), $50 cancellation/change fee (per Stay & Recharge package) or $20 cancellation/change fee (per campground site) applies and the remainder amount paid remains on file and must be used within one calendar year from date of issue and may be used one-time only towards a new (not currently made reservation) lodging reservation. No refunds will be issued.
  • Within 7 Days of Date of Arrival: All payments and deposits are forfeited and cannot be refunded or applied to a future stay.  Date changes and lowering reservation quantity is not allowed.  If your reservation is on a Saturday, you must cancel the Saturday prior, not on Sunday.

Summer Marina Rentals, Snowcat Transport, and Winter Activity Rentals Cancellation & Refund Policy
Changes to your reservation—including changing the date or reducing the number of items booked—are not allowed
within 7 days  of the scheduled arrival or activity date. You may cancel within this period, but no refunds or credits will be issued.

For cancellations or reservation changes made  more than 7 days before your scheduled activity:

You will receive a full refund to the original form of payment,  minus any applicable cancellation or change fees.

A $50 cancellation or reservation change fee applies to the following rentals and packages: pontoon boats, day docks, large cabanas, snowmobile rentals, snowmobile packages, and Stay & Recharge packages.

Other rentals—including kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, the sauna, and snowcat transport—do not have a cancellation or change fee if canceled more than 7 days in advance.

Cancellations or changes made  within 7 days of the scheduled activity—or on the day of the activity—will not receive any refund or credit, except in the case where Elk Lake Resort management cancels the activity.  We do not cancel because of the reasons listed below.

Mountain Environment & Uncontrollable Conditions
Elk Lake Resort operates in a mountain environment, where weather and natural conditions can change quickly and unpredictably. Circumstances beyond our control may include, but are not limited to, weather conditions, lack of snow, rain or lightning, excessive heat or sun exposure, wildfire activity or smoke, road closures, or other environmental events. If these conditions affect travel plans, recreational activities,
guest comfort, or personal preferences, refunds or credits will not be issued.

Travel Insurance Recommendation
We strongly recommend that guests purchase travel or experience insurance to protect against unexpected disruptions, cancellations, weather impacts, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance may provide reimbursement when cancellations occur for covered reasons under the policy.

Guests may wish to explore providers such as Allianz Global Assistance, Travel Guard, World Nomads, or Travelex. Guests are responsible for reviewing coverage details and selecting a policy that best meets their needs.

Operational Changes

  • While we strive to honor all reservations as booked, pricing, operating hours, and reservation times may change due to seasonal conditions, weather, or other operational adjustments. Please note that no credits or refunds will be issued as a result of these changes.

Snowcat Reservations: Our Lodge sits 11 miles from Dutchman’s Flat Sno-Park near Mt. Bachelor and can be reached only by snowcat, snowmobile, or cross-country skis. Once you book your stay, guests are required to make a separate snowcat transport reservation (unless you’ll arrive by ski or snowmobiles). Transport is booked online and billed separately.

General Policies:

Guest pets are not allowed, smoking anywhere on the property, and portable grills or firepits are prohibited.

We have updated our FAQ page and various rental information on our website. Please refer to these pages for the most complete and up-to-date details.

*Policies may change at any time, and the version on the website published on the day of your arrival will be considered the most current and may supersede information on this invoice.*
